The aim of this project was to purchase, install and carry out associated works to provide a high quality berthing facility in Strangford
Strangford Community Association approached DRAP with a proposal to encourage more sailors to visit the Strangford Lough, a beautiful area naturally suited for sailing. However, the only berthing facility available at the time was in Portaferry. The SCA believed that berthing facility, which would provide visiting sailors with electricity, water, and access to the village of Strangford.
Funding from DRAP helped the applicant research, purchase and install a pontoon, bridge and barge in Strangford.
