PROJECT SUMMARY

The purchase of a waterjet machine to offer the business considerable flexibility. The machine is large enough to cut all necessary sheet sizes, as well as a full range of thicknesses. Work that would normally take weeks to produce, could be done in hours with a waterjet machine.

BACKGROUND

Rathbanna Ltd is a family run business, which is now in its third generation, having started in 1895. The company design and manufacture items made from metal, including copper, brass, zinc, pewter, bronze, steel and stainless steel. 

ACTIVITIES

The promoter has set the following objectives for the project:

• Purchase and install CNC waterjet machine by 31st January 2011.
• Employ machine operator by 31st January 2011.
• Increase sales from £529,511 to £540,000 by end of year 1 and increasing by 2% by end of Year 2 (£550,800), and 5% by end of year 3 (£578,340).
