The establishment of a new, light eco-efficiency engineering enterprise that specialises in vehicle repairs.

BACKGROUND

MK Mechanics is a new business venture, established by applicant, Michael McKevitt, who has been involved in the motor repair/driving trade for 10 years. He was made redundant in the summer 2009.

ACTIVITIES

Funded under Axis 3, through SOAR, items funded included: 

• ECU remapping Equipment
• Digital Mileage system
• Diagnostic fault finder
• Marketing  & Promotion

The business concentrates on 3 areas; 

• ECU remapping service – reprogramming the Engine Control Unit (ECU) via the On-board diagnostic (OBD) i.e computer that captures information about the performance of the car. Remapping improves the performance and ensures greater fuel economy of the car.
• digital mileage correction – recalculating or recalibration of dashboard displays (cars/vans/motorbikes/lorries) after dash replacements or electrical faults
• dashboard repair service and a diagnostic fault finding service- finding faults with a PC program allows for fast, accurate and reliable diagnoses on vehicle electronics.
