PROJECT SUMMARY

The construction of a purpose built facility that will house washing & packaging machinery, provide enhanced storage facilities and an office space to underpin the marketing and organization of a packaged fruit and vegetable producer.

BACKGROUND

Mr Jim Fearon (snr) and his son, James Fearon (Jnr), own a farming business that supplies packaged fruit and vegetables directly to the wholesale market.

ACTIVITIES

Project Objectives:

• To complete construction of new building by 30th November 2011
• To employ 1 f/t additional employees by 30th September 2013
• To employ 6 seasonal employees by 30th September 2012
• To employ 1 f/t additional employees by 30th September 2015
• To increase business turnover by 10% by 31st March 2012 and 10% each year thereafter Items funded: - Steelwork & Cladding - Guttering - Walls & Floor (overall structure) - Sewer

BENEFITS

This much needed investment will allow the Fearon’s to store enough quality product to meet the growing demands of their existing customers and have the capacity to begin to grow their customer base.

The purpose built facility now houses their washing & packaging machinery, and provides an enhanced storage facility for their finished produce.
