The aim of this project was to improve and create new onsite activities to maximise the potential of Greenhill YMCA.
Greenhill YMCA was built in the 1970s and is the only YMCA residential centre in Northern Ireland. It offers residential accommodation, conference and catering facilities and a range of outdoor programmes. They also have summer camp each year. Over the years the demand for activities at Greenhill had gradually out-stripped supply, forcing them to turn customers away. They approached DRAP for funding to improve existing facilities and to make the site and activities accessible to users with disabilities.
Funding from DRAP enabled the applicant to purchase and install all additional equipment and activities at YMCA's Greenhill site to increase visitor numbers, enhance faciliity provision, increase sustainability and increase learning opportunities for visitors.
