PROJECT SUMMARY

A project by Down District Council to improve and upgrade existing facilities at Delamont Country Park to encourage more visitors and provide play facilities for children.

ACTIVITIES

Funded under Axis 3, through Down Rural Area Partnership, the project purchased six new pieces of equipment providinng innovative quality play equipment, enhancing Delamont Country Park as an exciting visitor destination.  Activies include:

• Team swing
• Two single pieces of play equipment including features such as towers, rope climbs, ladders, scramble nets, fireman’s pole, slides, seats, tunnels, bridges (inc disabled access)
• Hard landscaping including pathways and disabled access.

BENEFITS

The play facilities are a key catalyst in attracting visitors to the Park and extending the duration of their visit, which in turn generates additional spend for the local area.
