Castlereagh Borough Council successfully applied to Lagan Rural Partnership's village renewal scheme to enhance the local surroundings of the Moneyreagh Village.
Moneyreagh is located to the south east of the Greater Belfast Area within Castlereagh BC and is the only village settlement in the Castlereagh. The Village has grown in terms of the number of households in recent years and can be characterised as a commuter Village. This has created a population with a limited sense of community identity
As part of the Village Renewal Scheme, Castlereagh Borough received funding from Lagan Rural Partnership for the following.
Provision of a higher quality, recognisable "heart‟ to the Village for residents and visitors thereby promoting community identity and cohesion
