The refurbishment of a business unit to host a new social economy enterprise called Chocolate Memories.
Autism Initiatives NI is the leading voluntary sector provider of direct support to adults with autism in Northern Ireland.
Funded under Axis 3, through Lagan Rural Partnership, the refurbishment offers a facility which allows Chocolate Memories to mould, package and distribute chocolates for country markets, weddings, social enterprise cafes, tourist facilities and corporate events.
The business proivdes a unique opportunity for volunteers to gain experience in a viable trading business. Currently 7 trainees with autism attend the Chocolate Memories workshop with their products now selling in various retail outlets.
