Wales Rural Network Conference Update

21/10/2010

All roads led to Llandrindod Wells, Wales on 14 October as around 90 delegates converged on the Metropole Hotel for a conference organised by the Wales Rural Network.

The event attracted speakers including Tracey McNally of the Northern Ireland Rural Network and Pete Banford and David Boyce (of the Shropshire Hills and North Marches Local Action Groups respectively). The event also featured morning and afternoon workshops with four themes – renewable energy, sustainable tourism, local products and environment & land management. All four proved to be extremely informative, the underlying aim of such events being the opportunity for everyone present to exchange ideas and information. If you were there – or even if you weren’t – the Network is producing a series of notes containing details of each speaker and what they had to say. If you would like a copy of these, send an e-mail to ruralnetwork@wales.gsi.gov.uk
