Rural Network Continues to Deliver Training to LAGs

22/06/2011

The Rural Network NI continues to deliver training to LAG members involved in the delivery of Axis 3 of the NI RDP.

The latest round of training took place on 20th June 2011 and offered an opportunity for those newly elected public representatives onto Local Action Groups to gain knowledge of the Programme structures and assessment procedures.  The training concentrated on issues of Corporate Governance and Assessment Panel Procedures, sessions which are mandatory for LAG and assessment panel members.

Speaking about the training, Tracey McNally said, "Following the recent elections in May, we were aware of the need for training to newly elected members.  We were keen to organise sessions that could accommodate these new members, allowing LAGs to proceed with their business.  Feedback from the training to date has been very positive"

The completion of these latest training sessions brings the total number of sessions delivered and/or co-ordinated by RNNI up to 48, with 687 particpants across the sessions.  Sessions will continue to be organised as and when sufficient demand dictates.
