Local Programme showcased in European youth publication

ENRD has added to its list of project brochures with the latest entitled 'Young Farmers and Younger People in Rural Europe', which includes a focus on one NI RDP grant recipient, Mrs Joan Davis, who secured a grant under Axis 1 of the Programme.

The brochure hosts a selection of project examples showing how the EAFRD can help to provide development opportunities for young farmers and younger people in rural Europe.

Joan Davis, from Mid Ulster, received grant support under the Farm Family Options Skills Training Programme of Axis 1 of the Programme to complete a childcare course which has enabled her to gain employment in this area of work, with the potential to establish her own business in the future.

Other articles in the ENRD brochure feature more success stories which have resulted through EAFRD project support for younger people engaged in activities ranging from agri-food businesses to rural tourism. Other articles highlight the important integration roles that EAFRD investments can play for local youth facilities and rural culture in helping to counter the migration pressures offered by urban life.

Other titles in the series include:

  • EU Funds
  • Forestry
  • Food
  • Green
  • Growth
  • Information and Communication technology (ICT)
